Service Opportunities
Do you wish to strengthen your coupleship recovery? One of the proven ways to do so is to commit to a service position. Doing so will not only aid you in truly practicing step 12 and tradition 7 but offer an opportunity to apply unity within your coupleship and the RCA fellowship. You will connect with other couples in ways that would not otherwise be possible, you can have some fun and learn along the way. The time commitment can be anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours a week. Service is HOW we show our gratitude. Don’t know how: Loving guidance and mentorship is always available. Service can be fun, easy and the payoff beyond what you can imagine!
All service positions are for 13 months, allowing for a 1 month overlap for mentorship. Unless stated otherwise.
We suggest that all service positions provide a short update for each business meeting.
We are offering the following suggestions as guidelines based on our experience, strength and hope.
Meeting Lead Couple
This position’s time commitment is minimal. The meeting Lead Couple leads the meeting as per what the format is for the week. You are given access to a script to follow making this a very simple service position. Your time commitment is the duration of the meeting. The secretary couple is there to screen share and offer guidance and support if needed. A great place to start service!
Secretary Couple
There are 2 couples needed for this position – a new secretary couple rotates in every 6 months for a 1 year term. One couple will always overlap in an active position for mentorship and support. Couples can alternate weeks or months for duties, or as discussed and agreed upon between both couples. The time commitment is to be present for agreed upon meetings as well as alternating Business meetings. You will also need to monitor the secretary’s e-mail. A working knowledge of screen sharing on zoom is helpful but not imperative as it is easy to learn.

Welcome Couple
The welcome couple’s purpose is to welcome and offer support to newcomers. This position requires regular attendance at meetings and to stay a few minutes later to address questions or comments from the newcomers. There is also a short amount of time away from meetings to send e-mails. A full description can be found on the link.

Treasury Couple
(It is requested that this couple have at least 1 year in RCA.)
The Treasury Couple is required to put together a monthly report to submit to the Business Meeting Lead and the Secretary Couple for the monthly business meeting. Once you have working knowledge of the paypal account it would take no more than ½ hour a month. There is the additional responsibility of placing orders for newcomer packages that may take a few minutes weekly. A full “how to” description can be found in the link.

Contact List Couple
The contact List Couple role is to keep an up to date members contact list. Time commitment for the position is a few minutes a week.

Webmaster Couple
The webmaster couple updates the website using applications via login to the web server and sets up emails for other service positions.
Experience using HTML and WordPress is not required but will be helpful. The time commitment is approximately 1 hour per week.

Business Meeting Lead
The business Meeting Lead chairs the monthly business meeting, receives e-mails from members for agenda items and puts together the agenda for the business meeting. Time commitment is usually 30 minutes/month @ business meeting as well as additional time to check e-mail and create an agenda.
